GEOmon is a project funded by the European Commission with a duration of 4 years, from February 2007-February 2011. Its mission is to build an integrated pan-European atmospheric observing system of greenhouse gases, reactive gases, aerosols, and stratospheric ozone. The GEOmon data centre provides access to a wide variety of data related to atmospheric composition; part of the data has been acquired with GEOmon funding. Data contained in the GEOmon data centre are generally freely available for non-commercial use.
To maintain fairness to the individuals who have contributed, use of these data requires notification and acknowledgement to the data originators/providers, potentially including an offer of co-authorship.
Use of these data implies an agreement to reciprocate. Institutes making similar measurements are strongly encouraged to make their own data available to the scientific community in a complete and easily accessible form. Modellers are encouraged to make available to the community, upon request, their own tools used in the interpretation of the GEOmon data.
The GEOmon data centre contains and provides access to two types of data sets:
Users accessing data (type I and II) for use from the GEOmon data centre are expected to:
In addition, the GEOmon site provides links to external data bases. If the user follows such a link to another database, then the data policy for this database will apply.
