GEOmon Gender Committee
Women remain underrepresented in science, especially in leading positions.The GEOmon gender committee actively promotes the role of women at all levels in the project:
- Monitoring actions to promote gender equality within GEOmon.
- Promoting the recruitment of female researchers
- Reviewing applications and selections of all vacant positions
- Promoting concerns young female scientists (doctoral and postdoctoral students)
- Mentoring throught the ACCENT Mentoring Programme for the promotion of young scientists
(open to both men and women) - Promotion of female researchers
- Provision of an annual gender action report
- Reconciling work and family life for both men and women (e.g., organisation of video-conferences and child care)
- Promoting women chairs and speakers at GEOmon meetings
The GEOmon gender action plan and report provides an overview of the gender action during the first project year
